The Cross River State government has taken control of the Tinapa Business Resort from the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). Governor Bassey Otu announced this decision after the state made a financial commitment to AMCON, although the exact amount paid was not revealed. The state plans to revive the resort, which was originally built to boost business and tourism in the area. Tinapa, which includes shopping malls, hotels, a water park, and a film studio, had been under AMCON’s management since 2013 after the state government transferred control due to debts. Governor Otu also mentioned plans to revive other industries that are no longer functioning in the state.
