Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL), operator of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture, has celebrated outstanding secondary school students in Delta State at the 2025 Awokoya Memorial Chemistry Competition award ceremony held at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) Conference Centre in Effurun.
The highlight of the event was the emergence of Omazuwa Enousakhala Samuel from St. Augustine College, Oghara, as the overall winner. Samuel excelled among participants from schools across Delta State, clinching the coveted first prize.
Other top performers received plaques, certificates, educational materials, and incentives in recognition of their efforts.

Background on the Competition:
The Awokoya Memorial Chemistry Competition was established in memory of Professor Stephen Awokoya, Nigeria’s first indigenous chemistry graduate and a pioneering educator who passed away on March 15, 1985.
