Major Forum of Phase 1, 2, and 3 Ex-Militants Vows Total Allegiance to President, Claiming the Niger Delta is Enjoying Unprecedented Peace and Development.
The Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Forum (NDEAF), representing Phases 1, 2, and 3 of former militants, has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
The influential group declared its “total support” for the President during a rally in Warri, Delta State, which was organised to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Niger Delta “Has Never Had it So Good”
Speaking at the rally, the Convener of the Forum, ‘General’ Emma Satu, asserted that the two years under the Tinubu administration have been “momentous” for Nigeria and have brought immense attention to the Niger Delta region.
He countered criticisms about national challenges, stating that their support is driven by the clear “sense of belonging” and “love and concern” the region now enjoys.
Key reasons given for the massive endorsement include:
- Peace and Stability: Satu claimed that the Niger Delta is currently enjoying a period of “peace, stability and development” that the region has not experienced before.
- Infrastructure and Appointments: He highlighted the immense attention the region has received in terms of infrastructural development, road construction, and key federal appointments.
- Applauding the Amnesty Boss: The ex-agitators specifically praised the appointment of Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro from Gbaramatu Kingdom as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). They noted that the President has given a “huge sense of belonging” by entrusting a Niger Deltan with the role, which has led to “giant strides” in the Amnesty Office.
- Sustaining the Renewed Hope Agenda: The Forum believes that Tinubu’s policies, including the petrol subsidy removal, are aimed at creating a progressive and virile nation, and they are backing him to continue his leadership in all sectors—from the economy to education and infrastructure.
The NDEAF Convener concluded by making a bold statement, saying that Nigerians, particularly people from the Niger Delta, will “rally behind him once again come 2027” because his leadership embodies a culture of good governance and respect for the Nigerian Constitution.
