Akina Mama wa Afrika Seeks Journalists and Creatives for SRHR Stories

Akina Mama wa Afrika has launched a media grant to support African storytellers covering Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Journalists, content creators, and media professionals are invited to apply and share untold stories about women’s health, rights, and empowerment.

Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA), a feminist organisation advocating for women’s rights, has opened applications for a media grant aimed at African storytellers. The initiative seeks to amplify untold stories about Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) across the continent.

This opportunity is open to journalists, filmmakers, photographers, and content creators passionate about highlighting women’s health issues, rights, and empowerment. Selected storytellers will receive funding and mentorship to produce impactful stories that drive change.

The grant aims to shift narratives around SRHR, ensuring that African voices and experiences are at the forefront of media discussions. AMwA encourages applications from diverse storytellers, particularly those working in underrepresented communities.
