Delta State Government says the new Orerokpe campus will be ready for students in September 2025. Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is pushing projects like roads, bridges, and schools across the state. People are happy with his work—find out what’s coming to your area!
The Delta State Government has good news! The Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads), Mr. Charles Aniagwu, said Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is working hard to develop the state. Speaking in Asaba, he told newsmen that the governor won’t let critics stop him—he’s answering them with projects.
Last week, the governor took officials to check projects in Delta’s three senatorial districts. They saw the twin Ubu bridges on the Ughelli-Asaba road, now finished. “This cuts travel time between Warri and Asaba and makes driving easier,” Aniagwu said. They also checked the Isoko Ring Road, where work is speeding up.
At Southern Delta University in Ozoro, the College of Health Sciences is almost ready, with new buildings added. Then, at the Orerokpe campus, many projects are done. Aniagwu promised it will open for students in September 2025. “Education is key to stop crime,” the governor said, also promising the Omadino Technical College in Warri South will be ready by then too.
The team visited Hospital Road in Warri South, where drains are being built. The governor promised CT-Scan machines for hospitals in Warri, Asaba, and Oghara. They also saw the storm water drainage near Warri Township Stadium and three flyovers being built by Julius Berger. “Work is fast, and the governor is paying on time,” Aniagwu said.
On another day, they checked the Orere bridge and the 47km Ohoror-Bomadi Road, where 30km is being fixed. In Ughelli, Edo Road and other projects showed progress. People are saying, “Governor Oborevwori is showing workings, not just talk.”
Over the weekend, the governor brought peace between Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities after a land fight. Both sides agreed to live in harmony, and a new road linking them is coming. Aniagwu warned contractors to finish jobs well and fast, or they won’t get more work.
